Workers' compensation
Workers' compensation is a liability and disability insurance system under the Alberta Workers' Compensation Act.
The Workers' Compensation Board website has described the work of the WCB as a system that protects employers and workers against the full impact of work-related injuries and illness.
Workers who have claimed or received benefits under the Workers' Compensation Act may concurrently make a human rights complaint should the employee have been discriminated against in the workplace based on a ground protected under the Alberta Human Rights Act. Further information on workers' compensation can be found at the website of the Workers' Compensation Board of Alberta.
