Husky Energy Inc. wins Commission award for diversity leadership in the workplace

Chief Commissioner Charlach Mackintosh
Chief Commissioner Charlach Mackintosh presented the Alberta Human Rights and Citizenship Commission Diversity Leadership Award of Distinction to Husky Energy Inc. at a gala award ceremony in Edmonton on February 23, 2005. The award recognizes Husky's commitment to diversity and the respectful work environment that Husky has created.
Other finalists for the award were the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society and Calgary Laboratory Services.
This Commission-sponsored award recognizes organizations that embrace diversity in their workforce, encourage respect and inclusion, and work toward eliminating discrimination and barriers to fair employment practices. The award is part of the annual Alberta Business Awards of Distinction, which include 13 individual categories and the Premier's Award of Distinction, and are hosted by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce in association with numerous corporate sponsors.

International Women's Week and Day
From March 6 to March 12, 2005, Canadians will celebrate International Women's Week, with International Women's Day being the highlight of the week on March 8. This special week offers an occasion to reflect on the progress made towards women's equality and an opportunity to assess the challenges facing women in contemporary society. The Canadian theme for this year is "You are here: Women, Canada and the World." Visit the Status of Women Canada website for more information about International Women's Day 2005.
